4 steps to become a #GIRLBOSS
“Behind every good man, is a good woman”
Have you ever heard that phrase before? Although it can be interpreted as something sweet, there are a few different interpretations that I could pull from that:
Women come second to, and/or less than, men.
Women are the “brains behind the operation”, and men are the figure.
Women assume the role of the nurturer and become the support system.
I can argue that all of these things can be true at the same time. Women often seem to come second because we feel that we don’t need to be in the spotlight. We are all equal and it’s a stereotype that women can’t be bosses, can’t be a power force “in the boardroom” (or anywhere as an entrepreneur), but in reality we do it all. Women are powerful, magical super-beings and we deserve all the credit we can take. Especially when it comes to women entrepreneurship.
HOW TO BE A #GIRLBOSS FEMALE ENTREPRENEUR
I’m still learning how to be a boss but over the last few years of running a business, I’ve definitely strengthened in that department. So here are a few pointers:
This is a big one, but it all starts with YOU. Get to know yourself, and I mean really know yourself. If you don’t have a brand of your own already, you need to create one. What do you want people to think of you? What impression do you want to leave on others?
HAVE A PLAN IN MIND
What do you want to achieve? After ensuring that you know yourself, tie that in to knowing what you want to do.
Say it with your chest! But honestly, say what you mean and mean what you say. It’s 1 thing to have a plan in mind, but without action, sh*t isn’t getting done.
REFLECT AND GROW
You’re not perfect, no one is. So after all that action, take a moment to really reflect on what you’ve done and see how you can improve. Self improvement is huge.
Don’t take no for an answer and go for what you want girl! In the words of DJ Khaled...
& you know what? YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
Now show them how it’s done and let’s get sh*t done!
